| War zone pregnancy punishments dropped - Jackson Clarion-Ledger Posted: 24 Dec 2009 05:24 PM PST WASHINGTON — A recent military policy that added pregnancy to the list of reasons a soldier could be disciplined in a war zone will be rescinded by a new order drafted by the top U.S. commander in Iraq. Gen. Raymond Odierno has drafted a broad new policy for the U.S. forces in Iraq that will take effect Jan. 1, and that order will not include a controversial pregnancy provision that one of his subordinate commanders enacted last month, according to the U.S. military command in Iraq. Odierno's order comes about a week after the pregnancy policy issued by Maj. Gen. Anthony Cucolo triggered a storm of criticism. Cucolo had issued a policy that would allow soldiers who become pregnant and their sexual partners to be punished. The order listed a variety of offenses, and the punishments for them could range from minor discipline to a court-martial. But in a conference call with reporters earlier this week, Cucolo said he would never actually seek to jail someone over the pregnancy provision. And he said the policy was intended to emphasize the problems created when pregnant soldiers go home and leave behind a weaker unit. U.S. military leaders in Iraq conducted a full review of all existing orders as part of the ongoing transition in Iraq, and a new general order has been drafted. The order would consolidate several general orders from the U.S. commanders across Iraq. That policy, the military said Thursday, will not include the pregnancy provision. Previously, the commanders have had the authority to draft their own restrictions. Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. Available tools: PDF Newspaper, Full Text RSS, Term Extraction. |
| Tila Tequila Takes Back Pregnancy Announcement Yet Again - All Headline News Posted: 24 Dec 2009 05:35 AM PST December 24, 2009 8:38 a.m. ESTTopics: Celebrity BuzzLos Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) - Tila Tequila's pregnancy shout out turns out to be premature. Despite announcing to the world that she's pregnant, she reveals that she is not expecting yet. The 28-year-old MTV reality show star wrote her "big announcement" on her Twitter account earlier this week, saying she is giving her brother and wife a Christmas present. She said, "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: I am going to become a SURROGATE MOTHER for my brother & his Wife!!! That is my xmas present to them. Im pregnant!!!! [sic]" The post quickly spread online, with various blogs and news outlets reporting her latest attempt at getting attention. However, Tequila - real name Tila Nguyen - admits that she has no bun in the oven yet. She told Life & Style, "I'm about to be. When I tweeted that, I figured there's not enough space in the 140 characters. [I meant] I'm going to give him a Christmas present that's going to change his life." "I don't have time to take care of a real baby of my own - not yet however - I feel I am very ready to experience the whole pregnancy process but without having to actually have the baby my own to take care of." Tequila pulled out a similar stunt last summer. She announced in June that she was pregnant in a Twitter post, but quickly deleted it. Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. | JENNIFER HUDSON DENIES PREGNANCY REPORT: Star Magazine said David Jr ... - EURweb Posted: 23 Dec 2009 11:59 PM PST

*Four months after the birth of her son David Jr., Jennifer Hudson is said to be carrying her second child with fiancé David Otunga, according to Star Magazine.
"Jennifer was in total shock when she found out she was having another baby. She had wanted some space between the kids' ages," the tabloid quotes her "close friend" as saying, adding that the couple learned they were expecting on Dec. 10. Well, either Star Magazine is making up stories or this "close friend" snookered them or doesn't know what they're talking about 'cause Jennifer's camp is flat out denying the story: "Contrary to what has been falsely reported, Jennifer Hudson is not pregnant," her rep Lisa Kasteler says. "Jennifer leaves in April for South Africa where she will portray Winnie Mandela in the feature film, Winnie." "It is a commitment she is excited about and takes very seriously," the rep adds. "Jennifer is currently in the studio recording her second album and this is the only delivery she is looking forward to in 2010."

Just four months after giving birth to a baby boy, actress Jennifer Hudson is reportedly pregnant again. The 'Dreamgirls' star is expecting her second child with her actor-fiance David Otunga, Star magazine reported. Friends of the singer and actress say that the couple was shocked when they learned about the new development on December 10, since they had no plans for a second baby so soon. "Jennifer was in total shock when she found out she was having another baby. She had wanted some space between the kids' ages," said a source. Despite the shock, Hudson and Otunga are treating the news like an early Christmas surprise. "She and David love kids. It's another thing for them to celebrate during the holidays," the insider added.
