How to Naturally Conceive a Baby Boy - These Are the Best Ways to Get Pregnant With a Boy!

Are you trying to conceive a baby boy naturally? If yes, then you are at the right place. In this article we are going to discuss the most effective natural ways to select the gender of your baby.

But first, there are a few things you need to understand about conception. Although half of the sperm carries X chromosomes (which produce girls) and the other half carries Y chromosomes (which produce boys), the chances of conceiving either gender is not necessarily 50/50. You can manipulate the conditions of the conception so much that you can increase your chances of getting pregnant with a boy as much as 90%!
Just take a look at some of the things you need to know:

  • Timing is everything: you need to use an ovulation or a saliva predictor to determine the day of your ovulation. You need to have sex on that day exactly and not 2-3 days before. The reason is simple. The Y chromosome is fast and in most cases it can beat the X chromosome in the run to the egg, but it won't be able to survive for 1-2 days until you ovulate, because it's not very strong.
  • You need to choose the right sexual positions: positions that allow deep penetration can place the sperm closer to the egg and favor the Y chromosome, which is much faster. Use a pillow propped underneath your hips during intercourse or place your legs to your partner's shoulders to allow for deeper penetration.
  • Test your PH: the "boy sperm" can't live inside a highly acidic vagina, so you need to use a PH strip to determine your acidity levels. In case you need to lower your PH, you can try douching with certain solutions or increasing the consumption of alkaline foods.

How to Determine Gender of the Baby

Posted: 06 Nov 2009 07:58 PM PST

According to medical science, a pregnancy is first a zygote, then an embryo, then a foetus and only after birth, a baby. But for the hopeful couples, a pregnancy is viewed as a future mother. Studies reveal that 50% of women pregnancy is unplanned. In developing and underdeveloped countries this percentage is more than 90%. That is the reason why they are producing as many children in one year as the total population of some developed countries.

But now more and more educated women are choosing to abort, and in many societies they are supported in their decision. Governments of some countries are also encouraging birth control methods to control the growth of the population.

The units of fertilization contributed by each parent are called Gametes. The male gametes are sperm produced by the testes and the female gametes are eggs, or ova produced by the ovaries. The sex the zygote is determined at the time of fertilization since all ova contain an X-sex chromosome. So, the male sperm is the determining factor. If it contains an X- chromosome, the zygote will be female (XX) but if it contains a Y- chromosome, the zygote will be male (XY).

Although there is no reliable method of ensuring that a baby is of the desired sex, yet folk nostrums and quack remedies abound in many societies because many people would like to choose the sex of their baby. In many societies, boys are usually preferred to girls.

There are some old wives tales to ensure that your baby is either a boy or a girl. Some are a little odd, while some seem as though they may have a bit of truth to them. According to these tales, mothers carrying boys have a high belly. Most of their pregnancy weight will be in the belly if they are carrying boys in their wombs. Mothers carrying girls will report to be pregnant all over with a larger, lower belly.

According to some other tales, the heart rate of the baby is said to be a predictor of gender. The tale goes that baby boys have a slower heart rate then baby girls. One such myth is having coitus in a certain position or at certain times of the menstrual cycle. Such myths are popular throughout the world. One of the oldest beliefs is that one testicle contains sperm producing only girls, and the other holds sperm that produce only boys. But these are only myths holding no truth in them.

Methods of Sterilization For Men and Women

Posted: 06 Nov 2009 07:45 PM PST

Sterilization is a highly effective and permanent method of birth control for both men and women. In simple terms, sterilization is a lifelong method of contraception for both men and women. It is very effective to prevent the union of the male sperm with the female egg and thus prevent pregnancy. In most cases, this method is safe and free of problems. Sterilization in men is called Vasectomy whereas in women, it is called Tubectomy.

Sterilization should be regarded as a once and for all procedure. It is not reversible. Through it is safer procedure for men than women, yet more women are sterilized than men because it is the women that bear the impact of pregnancy.

Scientists are now developing sterilization methods that do not involve surgery. Governments of several countries are encouraging such operation and offering several incentives as a part of birth control measures. There is now such a wide range of family planning methods that most couples should be able to find at least one that meet their needs.

Sterilization in Men and Women

Vasectomy is a minor surgical procedure which prevents the release of sperm when a man ejaculates. It involves making two small cuts in the scrotum in order to snip the duct known as Vas Deferens on each side and tie off the cut ends, so that sperm cannot travel into the man urethra and out of his penis. After a man has been sterilized, and once his semen no longer contains sperm, he cannot make a woman pregnant. But he can still have erection, ejaculation and enjoy sex in the same way that he did before he was sterilized.

Vasectomy is done by a trained doctor in ten to twenty minutes. After that, man can go back to work or continue with his usual routine within hours. This operation is done under a local anaesthesia so there is no pain.

Tubectomy is surgical procedure in which the female fallopian tubes are cut to prevent future pregnancies in women. This method of sterilization involves closing off both fallopian tubes so that ova cannot travel into the uterus. This means that the woman cannot get pregnant. But she still has menstrual period and can enjoy sex in the same way that she did before she was sterilized. She still ovules normally, but the egg is absorbed by the body instead of being shed during the period. This method is also very simple now.

Find the Right Infertility Treatments and Solutions

Posted: 06 Nov 2009 07:37 PM PST

The inability of a person to conceive despite having regular unprotected sex is called infertility. It affects one in ten or twelve couples. In 60% of cases women are responsible and 40% of cases men are responsible. There are several causes of infertility from physical to psychological or biological.

Common physical causes in men are low sperm count, failure to deposit sperm in the vagina and obstruction of the male genital organs (epididymis, vas deferens or ejaculatory duct). Causes in women are failure to produce a sufficient number of healthy eggs, partial or complete obstruction of the fallopian tubes, endometriosis, pelvic tumors and rejection of the fertilized egg.

In few reports, it is found that in some men the regular wearing of tight underpants or taking long hot baths is associated with infertility. These raise the temperature of the scrotum.

Psychological causes like excessive tension, in either the men or women may also cause infertility. Almost every newly married couple plans to have children. They want children to satisfy family and to achieve personal growth and fulfillment. Children are also a means of rationalizing sexual activities and demonstration of sexual potency, an affirmation of masculinity or femininity.

Infertile couples now have two main options if they cannot or do not wish to adopt children or if fertility drugs are not the solution. These are: Artificial Insemination (AL) and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

Artificial insemination involves collecting sperm from the man or from a donor and introducing it into the uterus of the woman at a time when the chances of conceiving are greater. The sperm samples are usually obtained by masturbation. It may be fresh, or it may have been frozen for several months.

If the man has low sperm count or physically incapable of coitus, it may be necessary for him to make several donations may be supplemented by those of a donor. If his sperms are defective, the sample used for insemination will come from a donor alone.

In Vitro Fertilization is used when the woman's oviducts are irrevocably blocked. An egg is removed from or near the ovary. Then it is mixed with sperm. After a period of development in a glass laboratory dish, it is introduced into the uterus to await implantation. This process is also known as test tube baby. In many countries, this technique has proved successful. The chances of success are 50:50 but various religious institutions have condemned it as immoral. Moreover the cost of this technique is very high.

Surrogate Parenting is an alternative method to get child. In this method, a woman who takes the place of a sterile woman for the purpose of insemination by the man is called surrogate mother. This practice of one woman bearing a baby on behalf of another is now becoming more common. Many women are willingly coming forward to offer themselves for hire to conceive and bear children for others. But this type of motherhood is the subject of legal dispute as to the rights of the surrogate mother over the child she bears. This process is also very expensive.
