Heidi Klum Unzips for Page Six Magazine - Softpedia

Posted: 09 Sep 2009 11:18 AM PDT

Heidi Klum is part of the so-called "old" generation of models, in the sense that the 36-year-old mother of three continues to be one of the highest paid and appreciated female models of the moment. As we all know, by this age, most of them are already happily retired, pursuing other careers in the same field, of fashion, or perhaps living their life isolated from the world. Not Klum, though, who, pregnant with her fourth child now, happily unzips for the latest issue of Page Six Magazine and offers a wonderful insight into her enchanted life.

The interview also touches upon such topics as her critics, designer Karl Lagerfeld in particular, who recently took several swings at the model and even her husband. As fans must know, Lagerfeld repeatedly said he didn't know Klum personally, had never worked with her and did not care for her, but, for all he knew, she was too "fat" and plain (read: commercial) to cut it as a runaway model.

Heidi addressed this uncalled-for attack on a couple of occasions, but, once more, she's ready to show the world that she is of the opinion everyone is entitled to theirs, even if expressing it means bashing her.

"I don't know why [Karl] said that. Maybe he wanted to be in the paper? Maybe he doesn't understand what I do? It's bizarre to me that he says he doesn't know who I am because he's dressed me in the past. I've worn Karl Lagerfeld. Not even Chanel – his line. Lagerfeld doesn't just send random things everywhere, so it was a big thing for me [to wear his label] to the CFDA Awards a few years ago. I don't know how he missed that, when he dressed me that time. But you know, it's cool. People can say whatever they want to say. You can't please everybody, and you can't live your life wanting to please everybody either." Heidi says for Page Six.

Instead of trying to please an entire world, Heidi focuses on her pleasing those that matter the most for her, namely her expanding family. The model tells the magazine how she knew from the start Seal, her husband, the "gentle giant," as she calls him, was the one and how their marriage worked because they both placed emphasis on family values. In fact, Klum confesses, because of this, they, as a family, are unlike many celebrity families we see in the media and closer to the average household with children, which also includes toys scattered all around their house.

As for the fourth baby now on the way, Klum is positively ecstatic, even if she too may have a hard time with pregnancy every now and then. "It's hard when you don't fit in your things anymore. […] Everything explodes in the end. But it's bizarre. Just as it's a miracle that you can grow a human being in your belly, it's a miracle that your body goes back to normal again. I don't think you ever get back to exactly the way you were, but you do get close. And I'm happy with that. Especially when you see your kid for the first time." the model adds.

Kourtney Kardashian Pregnancy Update: Baby Shower Planned - The Hollywood Gossip

Posted: 09 Sep 2009 04:16 AM PDT

Phew. It's been a few minutes since Kourtney Kardashian last updated the world about her pregnancy.

We were beginning to worry that she knew how incredibly self-centered and annoying she is. Fortunately, Kourtney was just saving her breath for an interview with People in which she rambled on about her expensive baby shower.

"The guest list is around 75 right now, and I don't want it to be much more than that," she said. "A lot of my friends from college have babies, so I'm inviting a lot of them. And some of my family members, like my aunt, were talking about doing a family baby shower."

Millions of fans are simply dying to know what will go down at the shindig, Kourtney. Please, please, please tell us!

"I don't know what they have planned exactly, but Kim and Khloe, and my mom are all planning my shower. I'm sure my mom has been planning this since I was little. She is big on showers, so I'm sure mine will be a big event. I'm very mellow. I'm not as over-the-top as my mom, and Kim and Khloe."

Will unemployed baby daddy Scott Disick be there?

"I don't know if you're allowed to have guys! I have to ask my mom!"

Yes. Please go ask. Take your time. We understand if we don't hear from you for a few weeks as a result.

Heidi Klum's pregnancy fears - Screen India

Posted: 09 Sep 2009 09:56 PM PDT

Supermodel Heidi Klum, who is expecting her fourth child feels her legs and butt will ''explode'' in her final month of pregnancy, but remains confident of getting back in shape.

The pregnant 'Victoria's Secret' model, who raises three children with husband, singer Seal, always piles on the pounds in the last month of the pregnancy, but is not worried about shifting her baby weight, New York Post reported.

"The last month is unbelievable, how rapidly your stomach goes. It's huge! The thighs, the butt - everything explodes in the end. It's bizarre. Just as it's a miracle that you can grow a human being in your belly, it's a miracle that your body goes back to normal again," said the German beauty who is expecting a daughter in October.

The 36-year-old model had earlier walked the ramp wearing lingerie for a fashion show just two months after welcoming three-year-old Henry, said that she loves being a wife and a mother.

"What do I love about him? Aside from his sexy stature? He's a gentle giant. We're very into family values. If you come to our house in Los Angeles you'll see that it's not a big, museum-like house where you can't touch anything or sit anywhere. It's a family house, where three children are living. We have toys all over the place," Klum said.

We Can’t Even Blame Her Bitchiness on Pregnancy Hormones - Elites TV

A few weeks ago, Beet told us about how Grey's Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl had put on a couple of pounds and quit smoking. She asked the question that has been milling in the minds of tens of us: "Could she be pregnant?" Then, more recently Molls told us that Katherine is taking a leave of absence from Grey's. More fuel for the pregnancy rumors. It seems that we were on the right track with our suspicions.

Katherine Heigl is not pregnant, but she is having a baby. She and husband Josh Kelley have adopted a 10-month-old baby girl from Korea. Her name is Nayleigh and she should be here in the states this week. This will be a first child for the couple and I don't even have one snarky thing to say about it. She quit smoking for her health and the health of her new baby, she's taking some time off from work to bond, she's providing a home to a child that needed one, and she's spared the human race of perpetuating the existence of her bitchy DNA. It's a good thing!

Good luck to Katherine and Josh in this new endeavor!

Ask the Juggle: What to Do if Laid Off While Pregnant? - Wall Street Journal

Posted: 09 Sep 2009 10:31 PM PDT

An angry husband wrote me this week, trying to stay calm after his pregnant wife was abruptly laid off.

Trying to be helpful, the wife, a customer-service worker with a good two-year performance record, disclosed her pregnancy to her bosses as soon as she found out. To her surprise, she soon became the only layoff victim among the companys 50 workers. This happened despite the fact that the company had recently announced a move management said was designed to avoid layoffs — a 10% employee pay cut. I dont think this was fair, the husband writes.

The couple would have to see an attorney, of course, for legal advice specific to their situation. But the facts the husband provided — that his wife was laid off so soon after disclosing her pregnancy, and that she was the only one laid off — raise questions about whether her employer had discriminatory motives, says Peter C. Cohen, an employment attorney with Charlson, Bredehoft & Cohen, in Reston, Va.

Employees in such situations have three options. Either on her own or with an attorney, the woman could ask her ex-bosses for an explanation, and try to negotiate to get her job back or to receive severance pay, Mr. Cohen says.

She could go a step further and file a pregnancy-bias complaint with the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission, a necessary first step in her state toward a federal lawsuit, Mr. Cohen says.

She could also drop the matter and move on. Customer-service jobs are still one area where employers are hiring; if she wants, with luck, she might be able to land a position that allows her to work from home.

Such decisions entail a value judgment. It is very important to some employees to stand up for themselves if they believe their rights have been violated. Ive posted before on rising layoffs among pregnant women; pregnancy-discrimination complaints to the EEOC were up 12% in 2008 over 2007 levels, and I expect the agency to report another increase this year.

On the other hand, filing an employment lawsuit is stressful a burden thats especially unwelcome when you are pregnant — and such cases can take years to resolve. To get as far as a jury trial, this woman would have to dig up more evidence that her former bosses had discriminatory motives such as any remarks they made to her or others about her pregnancy. A victory might net only back pay and reinstatement, to a job the woman might no longer even want by then.

Readers, what would you advise this couple to do?
